Best Canadian Mysteries of 2012!

A complete surprise to find out that The Beggar’s Opera placed second in a Reader’s Choice contest for the top five Canadian mysteries of 2012, just behind Linwood Barclay and a mere one vote ahead of Robert Pobi! What a great way to start off the New Year!

I met all of the authors on the shortlist at the Quebec Writers Festival and they’re all pretty wonderful (so are their books). Un grand merci to the House of Crime and Mystery and Jacques Filippi for setting up the contest, and to everyone who voted!
