One of the great things about getting published is fan mail. Having people you’ve never met reach out to tell you how much they enjoyed your book is an amazing thing. It conveys, I think, not just the power of words but also the sense of community that writers and readers can develop. And so thank you, to all of those wonderful readers who have taken your time to send me emails (and in one instance, a lovely note card) about The Beggar’s Opera to tell me much you enjoyed it. I am deeply grateful to each of you.
