The LCBO (our liquor store outlets in Ontario) have come up with such a great marketing idea with Penguin. They call it the Cocktails and Conversation Book Club.
They charge $ 35 for an evening of drinks and appetizers with a local author, and throw in a book. These are most often held in Toronto, but they’ve arranged one in Ottawa for The Beggar’s Opera.
I’m scheduled for the evening of June 7th at the Rideau Centre, so if you are in town that day, I hope you’ll come and enjoy some mojitos! A Twitter follower sent me this photo today. I had no idea the advertising was up already. (Thanks, Dan!)
